Hahas i just went to watch Phantom of the Opera with GG this Tue..splendid!!
Really its fantastic man!! Both of us agreed that we dun mind watching a second time..too bad we dun have the money..hahas
Just the props alone are worth the 150 bucks!! Oh btw really mus buy the stall seats, if not the feeling will be totally different!! =p
Esp the chandelier..my god!! I definitely like the starting, right after the bidding scene, when the chandelier was raised and the music came down!! then the setting starts to change to one in 1881..ahhh!!! And the chandelier is right on top of the audience!!! And the lights on the chandelier can really light up!! But personally i tot if the chandelier have more crystals on top it will be nicer..hahas..ok la then it wld be heavier..=p
It's like a magic show liddat, alot of unexpected things..
I like the mirror!! When Raoul looked into it its like a normal mirror, but when christine looked into it Phantom's face appeared!! And i think it took alot of effort for the production crew to find out the exact angle to place the mirror, coz if it was put straight on the stage then the audience would be reflected in the mirror, and if it's too tilted the audience cant see the surface of the mirror..
Also the scene of the underground labyrinth, where phantom kidnapped christine, the boat can actually move on its own even without phantom rowing!! Not to talk about the dry ice that maked the staged look completely like water-filled!! Wow!!! And also the candles that moved out onto the stage on their own, and extinguished all at the same instance when the lights are off!!
I like also the masquerade scene, the super grand staircase that is as wide as the stage, jus disappeared in like 30 secs!! And the costumes are super nice as well..so are the songs..
Really didnt expect phantom to really go up till the topmost of the stage, jus right below the ceiling!! And theres this gold statue right in the middle of the topmost of the stage, at the start i thought it was jus a statue, later it was lowered to jus above the audience seat, ans phantom appeared behind the statue and started to sing!!! OMG!!!
And when phantom ran away with chrisitine on the slanted platform on the stage, the platform can actually lower as they ran!! So it's like they are really running to the lower levels..hahas..dunno how to describe la..jus very magical..
And when the actors sounded their pistols, theres really fire coming put of them..i was wondering how come the stage didnt get burnt..hahas..oh and theres this scene at the grave yard when christine went to pay respects to his father, phantom sort of flipped his cloak up to cover himself and bang! He disappeared!!! And there was fire coming out of his cloak too! Before he disappeared..hahas..
Oh and we were lucky to be able to get free merchandise from the staff..at 1st i tot every one has it, but later i discovered after the show that only a few people has it..anw. theres this very nice wine glass with the words phantom of the opera on it, and also a super nice book introducing the actors, scene, acts and other stuff, in a black phantom of the opera bag..i think the whole thing costs about 10 bucks ba..hahas and they also sell related merchandise outside.. t shirt and stuff....
Anyway, really fantastic and great!!! Phantom rocks!!!

I see weeds growing out of my blog!! Time to clean up..
To be frank, i didnt discover my hobby of singing until later jc life..
Back in the sec sch years i seldom went to k box, and even if i went i wasnt the one who couldnt let go of the mike..hahas..
Since when i started liking to to to k box? Seriously i cant remember it as well..maybe i got influenced by my lovely classmates and friends..hah!
From mid april to now i've already went to k box 4 times!! Oops..hahas..and my song list is becoming longer and longer..=p
There are some permanent songs that i will always sing la, others are mostly recent and new songs i heard on 933..by the way, every time i went to work i will listen to a full 12 hours of 933, which undenibly helped my in knowing more songs..hahas..=p
To those wanting to go to k box as well, here are some of my personal experience：
If u wanna go to one that dun chase u out as soon as the time is up, and also one that will be 4eva available, try going to the chinatown kboz, beware dun go to the wrong level! Or else u will end up singing in kster on top of kboz, which has a song system that really makes me mad, and most importantly, the songs are too old!!
If u wanna go to ont that has a sushi bar beside, try the lot 1 kboz..i used to go there during sec sch, and the service is quite good, and can shop in lot 1 and eat before and after that..
The JE kbox is patroned mostly by students, but the rooms are very smokey..yucks..
The marina one is always quite crowded, even on weekdays, and the people there always "invite" u out on time,as in they really stand at ur door and wait for u to get out! The last time i went there i was unfortunate enough to encounter a short circuit and the entire kbox blacked out!! And they took quite a long time to repair every room and most importantly, all the songs that we chose were erased off!!! About 20 songs i guess..wah =p and that day the ppl refused to let us sing till 7pm coz they said there is buffet coming in and wadsoever, even though k students is supposed to be from 2 to 7..arrgh!
For suntec kbox, the service there is really quite lousy, and i refused to visit there again after going there for the 1st time..i went to the k lunch and they didnt give me my food even till i was abt to leave aft 3 hours!!! And i remember reminding them 3 times, and after the 2nd time they told me wad i ordered was out of stock..wad de..and they dun let me cancel my order and i was forced to pay the full price of k lunch without the lunch!!!
The cine kbox was ok, and i went there most often i think..coz its right in the centre of orchard, so can go shop after that..hahas..also alot of ppl and have to leave on time..but the service quite ok la..but the rooms are also quite smokey..
Anw, i hope that helps in introducing some of the outlets i went to..will try exploring more in the future..hahas..=)
