i cant believe the another semester is starting so soon..
Taking LSM 1101 biochemistry, LSM 1102 molecular genetics, PR 2202 perfume and cosmetics, CH2291 chinese traditions and LAJ 1201 Japanese this sem..
Luckily theres still 2 weeks to "enjoy" a bit of life, since tutorials and labs have not started yet..heh
PR2202 is quite fun, 1st lesson our teacher made us smell perfumes and guess whether it is man, ladies or unisex..hahas
CH2291 is interesting also, coz it is taught by two eurasians!!! Oh man!
Just bought the book for Jap, and im starting to worry abit..seems hard man, and the teaching system is the strictest i have ever seen so far in nus, there are 5 text books in total (normally for other modules theres only one, or none, coz you print your own notes), costing about $70, which are all compulsory, and the student guide alone is already about an inch thick!! Hahas and it is so specific about what you must do and what you must not do in before lectures, during lectures and after lectures and for tutorials etc, and the most amazing thing is theres actually 3 tutorials for this module every week!! (normally theres only one) I think theres vocab quiz every tutorial and the vocab quiz is further divided into 3 parts: spelling, dictation and kanji (meaning chinese words). Besides vocab quiz theres also vocab task, which also must be done before the tutorials..and theres even skits that the students must arrange themselves and perform in the tutorials and the skits are assessed..they even made it clear that if you are late for 15mins 0.5 marks will be deducted and if more than 30mins you will be marked absent and 1 mark will be deducted, plus you will be punished..most importantly, all the tutorials are taught entirely in japanese!! Which means i have to speak japanese once i step into the tutorials..Stress man..i think they are really teaching you the japanese culture instead of the language..hahas..
But actually i sort of like this mode of teaching, coz only through this system you will feel that you are really "learning" something, and with the correct attitude..at least you wont be afraid that you will slack off..hahas..=)
This sem's going to be super taxing i guess, coz theres travel fair coming up followed by 2 trips, and a drama production in march in which i am the stage manager, and not forgetting the lion dance performances in the coming cny period..and i still have to fork out time to practise my drumming in order not to waste my time at the merely 30min lessons every week..
