Went to flagstaff with a good friend named joshua yesterday, actually i just went to flagstaff (the nearest town from the canyon) on friday, but it was sort of rush =p
On friday we booked a trip to flagstaff specially for xanterra employees, at a discounted rate of
$13. We set off at about 2pm and reached the flagstaff mall at about 330pm. It was quite small actually, like one level of Raffles Place with limited shops and some places to eat. There was this pyramid of candy machines that you can buy candies from. You just need to put in 25cents and a candy will drop out. I tried the super sour candy, it wasnt very sour at 1st but as the candy melted in my mouth, the sour taste slowly diffuses out..=x
After that we went across the street to this row of stores and they have this really big shoe shop with like thousands and thousands of pairs of shoes and they all look different!! But too bad i didnt like any of those and i ended up buying nothing..but later we went to this store called Old Navy which sold clothes similar to that in GAP. Bought a really nice shirt there which cost abt US24.50.
Later we went to Ross, which was this very big departmental store with lots of good clothes and they were super cheap!! I guess being stuck in the canyon for close to a month without much to do really make people go crazy when they go shopping. And during my stay here i keep thinking of kbox almost everyday..i wonder if there are any nice songs coming up??
Soon after Ross we went to this super duper nice mandarin buffet with almost anything you can imagine, mongolia bbq beef, sushi, mostly chinese dishes, which really gave us a break from all the burgers and pastas..=)
Following which we went to downtown williams to tour around, it was already night time and everywhere was bustling with activity. Ww saw this singer in the display window of a shop, together with a celloist. The shop was pretty small but everyone stopped by to listen to her (i think she looks lkme amelie!!). There were also some galleries and gift shops selling handmade stuff and most of the restaurants there sold mexican food..
Finally we went to walmart to grab our electric kettles after almost a month and also some other groceries, before returning back to the canyon. On the way back i looked out of the windows and the stars were so bright! And they were so near i feel that i can touch one if i stretch out my hand..
Indulgence =)
