Maybe i had too great a time back in the canyon..took a very very long time to get back to the hectic lifestyle..especially for the production side..and talking about productions, i made my 2nd production since i stepped into uni, and it was quite a success from the feedback and response gathered..i had already started on my 3rd production, being the production manager this time..guess it will be 10 times as tough as the previous, 4 rehearsals every week, have to pon 5 days of sch for bump in, in the midterm exam week..=\

I should say the modules that i took were reasonably ok, in fact should be considered as a bit slack compared to the previous and those to come..no major labs, just one level one module, and no need to do any lab reports..and best of all, i managed to complete my favourite jap2 =D

Frankly speaking, jap was my favourite module up to now, even though the grades had always been quite lousy, and workload is heavy, with 1x2hr lecture + 2x2hr tut + 1x1hr tut + 3 quizzes per week, not including homework projects and oral presentations, theres something that somehow makes you want to keep taking it. I guess it's the senseis..in fact im missing my sensei already..

I still remember my 1st lecture in jap one, the sensei taught nothing but classroom greetings.. honestly i didnt think much about it at that time, but surprisingly the senseis were particularly strict about those greetings. From the 2nd lecture onwards, the sensei will greet us おはよう ございますbefore the morning lecture and we are asked to reply, and さんようならat the end. Tutorials are the same. There is also things to say when you enter the sensei's office, and the same when you go out. In every announcement that they put on ivle, they will write things like "how are you lately" and "today is friday and tomorrow is weekend, please rest very very well and take good care of your health". Even for the emails, my sensei will write a bit on what she has been doing lately, like going to bintan to play golf and stuff like that, when it's just a small reminder for you to bring your homework on the next day..They always try their best to write a lot of encouraging remarks on the homework submissions, and chat with the students on their recent happenings..

In my last tutorial, i brought a camera to take photos with my favourite sensei, and she says she had already brought one herself, and she took photos for everyone in the class =) It is this kind of lovely teachers that really make you want to take the module over and over again, regardless of the grades..there's this very special thing about jap language modules, the same sensei will finish teaching all levels of jap from 1000 to 4000 for each preceeding sem, before repeating from level 1000 again, which means that if you plan to take jap modules from level 1000 to 4000 continuously for 4 sems, you will always see the same sensei in each sem!! But the tutorial teachers will change of course. Which also means that if you skip a sem and take the next level again, you will see a different lecturer =( Personally i love this system, coz by the 2nd sem you will already be very familiar with the sensei and his/her style of teaching, and it's like, the sensei is watching you grow and improve as you move on..=)

Too bad i wont have a chance to take jap3 next sem, since i have 3 comlusory modules and i had to take 1 singapore studies and 1 GEM module..which means i wont be able to see the same sensei again..haiz =(

I remember writing about my sensei asking to try my cakes, but her birthday falls on the day of the jap final exam..so i had no time to bake one for her..after the exam almost all her tutorial students went down to the examiner's table to wish her お誕生日おめでとう..and she was quite touched..hahas =) So heres an email that i wrote to her, and her reply:

お誕生日おめでとう！今日の試験はちょっとむずかしかったですが、おもしろかったですね！最近試験がたくさんあります、よく準備しているから、ケーキの作る時間があまりありません。先生の誕生日に、ケーキを作てあげません、ほんどうすみません！でも、大丈夫！チャンスがあったら、わたしはきっと二つケーキを作て、先生にあげますよ！！
いろいろお世話になりました，どうもありがとうございます！

(Translation: Fuji sensei, happy birthday! Today's exam is quite tough, but very interesting! Lately i had a lot of exams, and spent a lot of time trying to prepare for them, and i didnt have time to make cakes. I wasnt able to give sensei a cake on your birthday, very sorry about that! But, it's ok, if theres a chance next time, i will surely make 2 cakes and give sensei!! Thanks for all the care and guidance you had given me in the past, thanks a lot! Happy birthday!)
