Went for the first new year count down with my dear 73 mates at Mt. Faber yesterday, actually just a few hours ago..=)
Met muppet and xuanxuan at clark quay at 3pm, and proceeded to mind's cafe. Later the rest came and we played a number of board games. Personally im in love with Taboo..maybe it is because i like challenging my limits..hahas =p We played a new and improved version of taboo instead of the original taboo. Difference being there are 4 ways of describing the word on the card. You can choose the conventional speaking, or drawing, or describing in less than 15 words, or using mob, which is this cute purple monster puppet with long arms and long legs, depending on the box you land on. It is quite interesting cos a different stack of cards is used for each type of description. When you use mob, the opponent is suppose to hold a card for you away from your team mates, and you have to manipulate mob to describe the action to your team mates. So most of the words on this stack of cards are actrion related, such as dribbling a basketball etc.
Other games like telepathy, which tests the 默契 between you and your partner is also quite interesting. Basically you just need to throw the dice and determine whether your card will be displayed on the picture side or words side, and then draw a card from the stack. Then you have 30sec to write 5,6,7 or 8 words that you think of from looking at the card, together with your partner. Later you need to reveal both of your answers and see how many common words you have. The more the better of course. This game simply proves the excellent 默契 and "telepathy" me and my dear qingjia have..muhahas =P
Later we went to central for dinner, wanted to go to waraku at first, only to realise that it is impossible to get a table for 12 without booking on the eve of new year. So we ended up at the food court instead, which proved to be not bad too. At least you can eat a full meal plus dessert with the same amount of money you would have spent at waraku..hahas =p
Took 124 to muppet's house to put our stuff. Played majong and scrabble for a while and set off to mount faber at around 1115pm. It was my first time to mount faber though it was quite near my house. I quite like the long stairs with the cooling night breeze. It feels cooler walking under the trees covered in a layer of mist. The way up was quite short, but it reminds me of the hiking days at night..=D There was this short stretch of road near the top of mt faber with no trees, and you can really see the entire business district glowing under the stars. By the time we made it there, there were already a lot of people standing by to watch fireworks, some sitting on the road barrier and others setting their tripods. We continued up the top near the jewel box, there were even more people there getting ready their cameras. It wasnt long before the countdown started. It was very funny cos we were standing on the middle of a road, on the left side there were fireworks from marina bay, right above our head there were fireworks from the giant xmas tree on mt faber itself, and at the right there were fireworks from vivocity. Since all the fireworks appeared in the sky at different intervals, you can see the whole crowd of people running from side to side catching different fireworks..hahahas =p
And so, 2009 arrived in the midst of oohs and ahhs..=P
After we left, we went to have dim sum at a coffee shop below muppet's house, and walked to safra to play pool. The pool house closes at 3am so we only had about an hour before they chase us out. By 2am plus most of us are already in the lag phase and we played quite lousily..nevertheless it helped to keep us awake..hahas =p
After that we went back to muppet's house and played card games such as MRT with different variaions like occupation, Beer names, movie titles etc. Of course there was James's Tarot session as well =p Soon most of the people went to sleep while me, ningfei, pj, shell and liqian continued to play the Truth or dare game..actually there were no dare stuff so it was a Turth game..hahas..Surprisingly the game lasted for more than two hours, and i actually managed to stay awake throughout the whole night. 0.0
After our breakfast at the hawker centre, the count outing outing also came to an end, and everyone left to do their first thing in the new year.
